Emerging out of a friendship forged by fiddling, the West Virginia based band The Weevils harness the power of the song. Each of them songwriters in their own right, their collaborative arrangements of twin (and sometimes triple) fiddles and tight vocal harmonies weave a colorful tapestry that tells a story along with their lyrics.
Mary Linscheid is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, writer and folklorist. Her other band, The Shoats, were winners of the Neo-Trad contest at Clifftop, the Appalachian String Band Music Festival, in 2023. Gray Buchanon is a fiddler and songcrafter, based in Morgantown West Virginia, and member of The Weevils, The Hellfires Band, The Starlite Darlins and The Hillbilly Biscuits. Claire Silbernagel is a musician fueled by rage and fiddle tunes, and member of The Weevils, The Hellfires Band, and The Sweaty Hands String Band.
